A poll in Massachusetts just a bit over a month before Election Day shows statewide support for Question 4, the legalization bill.
Fifty-two percent of residents say they will vote for the bill, versus 42 percent against. The poll was conducted by the Western New England University Polling Institute.
Massachusetts is the fifteenth-largest state in the union. Legalization would bring another 6.8 million people living under marijuana reform come November, and a foothold in the northeast.
Maine, too, has full legalization on the ballot. A late September poll there found support at 53 percent, with 38 percent opposed.
